The darkroom technique of “dodging and burning” an image to selectively manipulate the exposure of a photograph has been around far longer than digital photography. The idea is to “dodge” portions of a scene that are underexposed, and “burn” areas that are overexposed.

This is for those of you who claim to be serious about wildlife photography and think you have all the gear you need. The video below will either reinforce that notion, or make you realize that, among other things, you need a much bigger wallet.

Sony launched the 42.4MP A7R III yesterday and Shutterbug was amongst a group of select media that got a chance to shoot with this new, full frame mirrorless camera at a studio shoot with dancers and performers, and then later at a nightclub with musicians.

This morning Tamron introduced the 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD lens, a powerful ultra-telephoto zoom for Canon and Nikon full-frame DSLR cameras. Also known as Model A035, the new lens is expected to deliver Vibration Compensation (VC) up to four stops, as well as fast and precise autofocus.

Sony was back at it this morning, unveiling the A7R III, a 42.4MP full frame mirrorless camera with the ability to shoot 10 frames per second continuous bursts at full resolution with a faster, revamped autofocus system.
