Wildlife Photography How To

This is for those of you who claim to be serious about wildlife photography and think you have all the gear you need. The video below will either reinforce that notion, or make you realize that, among other things, you need a much bigger wallet.

John E. Mariott is considered one of Canada’s premier wildlife photographers, and he provides an interesting peek inside his SUV and multiple camera bags to give you an idea of the photo equipment he can’t live without. Mariott’s goal isn’t to boast, but rather to provide gear recommendations for aspiring wildlife photographers.

As you’ll see in the video, much of Marriott’s equipment is what you might expect from a working pro. But there’s also some other stuff that he admits is “sort of crazy.” Mariott explains why he uses both full-frame and crop-sensor camera bodies, and reveals his go-to lenses for various purposes. And that’s just for starters!
