New Zealand photographer Chris McLennan created some amazing images of an African pride of lions using a Nikon D800E, a remote control 4-wheel-drive "camera buggy,” and a healthy dose of creativity.

Panoramas are easy to wish for, but, until recently, were not easy to get. To shoot high-quality panos often required special cameras that could rotate their lens while simultaneously advancing an aperture slit across a curved film plane.

Every Memorial Day weekend for the past 60 years the 3^rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as the “Old Guard,” has paid homage to America’s fallen heroes by placing American flags by the graves of service men and women at Arlington National Cemetery. The state of Wisconsin is teaming up with NASA and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in a unique project to identify the state’s wildlife populations with the installation of 5,000 strategically placed trail cameras. The “Snapshot Wisconsin” initiative employs remote sensing satellites and a global crowd-sourced database to create what aims to be the “richest and most comprehensive caches of wildlife data for any spot on our planet.”

Every once in awhile I discover a photo bag or backpack and something just clicks. It becomes part of my routine—my “go to bag” when I have somewhere to go to. So if you’ll kindly overlook my dangling preposition, I’ll tell you about three bags I don’t want to be without. 

The EOS 80D is the latest iteration of Canon’s APS-C-chipped DSLRs that began with the introduction of the (no kidding) three-megapixel EOS D30 in 2000. I’ve owned and shot with every camera in this series through the 60D. I so dearly loved my Canon 50D, now converted to infrared-only operation, that I couldn’t imagine anything better, at least until I got the 60D. What happened to the 70D? I guess I must have missed that one. No matter, I was eager to put the new EOS 80D to work because of the specs and features it offered.
