Included with Portfolio Server 8.5 is Portfolio Project Sync for Adobe Creative
Suite 3. Developed in close partnership with Adobe, Project Sync brings together
the power of Portfolio Server with the convenience of the CS3 environment. Providing
seamless integration between Portfolio Server and CS3, Project Sync enables powerful

Project Sync ties transparently into Portfolio Server, providing teams real-time

This seamless integration allows creative workgroups to search, access, catalog
and tag assets in Portfolio Server, via Adobe Bridge and other CS3 applications.

I’ve had to replace a failing computer hard drive more often than I’d care to remember. Fortunately, I’ve learned my lesson: my workstation now includes external drives as both backup and primary storage. I routinely move content from the computer onto one external drive and back up to a second drive. (I usually prefer to transfer memory card files first to the computer, so that my backups will include these; then I move those files to the external drive when a project is completed, making sure that they are synced to Lightroom.) Unfortunately, the cost of all this may amount to the price of a second camera body or new lens, but it’s money well spent, as you’ll realize the first time a drive goes down.

Spend even a short time looking at Jackie Tran’s spectacular landscape and cityscape photos and it won’t come as a surprise to learn he’s a graphic designer as well as a photographer. His years of design experience are apparent in the way his compositions use lines, shapes, and colors to draw viewers into and around his images.

Formal portraits and other people pictures are typically most compelling when precise focus is attained on a subject’s eyes, but that’s not always easy to accomplish depending upon your camera settings. Even if you switch from multi- to single-point focus, there’s often a better way to get the job done.
