We thought we’d give you a break from the barrage of Photokina product news, and let you feast your eyes on these stunning images just captured by the International Space Station (ISS) some 250 miles above us. These images of our planet at night were taken last week.

Fidelity's DPF-5600F is a 5.6" Digital Picture Frame supporting up
to a 10 megapixel picture. Compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, it has a USB
port and uses CF/MS/SD/MMC memory card formats. Easy-to-use on board menu controls
allows the user to manage photo display at a simple touch. The frame also features
a TV/Video Output function which allows digital pictures to be viewed directly
on any TV. Available in a clear acrylic design, the DPF-5600F carries a suggested
retail price of $199.



The DPF-8000F is an 8" Digital Picture Frame supporting up to 12 megapixels.
This frame displays pictures, as well as music and video on a high resolution
LCD TFT screen. It uses CF/MD/MS/SD/MMC/SM/XD memory card formats. Utilizing MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4
video files, JPEG photo formats, and MP3 music files, the DPF-8000F has built
in stereo speakers and a multi-function music and video mode. The user can manage
displayed media with easy wireless remote or onboard controls. This model, available
in black, has a suggested retail price of $249.



Fidelity's DPF-5600F and 8000F Digital Picture Frames will be available
at retailers in North America during summer, 2006.

Following the publication of the first six titles in the Fields of Vision series, volumes 7–9 present images by Carl Mydans, Gordon Parks and Arthur Rothstein, from the Library of Congress’ renowned collection of Farm Security Administration (FSA) and Office of War Information (OWI) photographs. Transporting the viewer to the America of the 1930s and 1940s, the images offer a glimpse of a new narrative style that was later to blossom on the pages of Look and Life magazines.

Writer/Director Paul Ratner was doing research for his 2013 film "Moses on the Mesa,” a love story about a German-Jewish immigrant and an Acoma Pueblo woman, when he discovered a treasure trove of beautiful color photographs of native Americans. Because color film wasn’t readily available until the 1930s, many of these striking images had been colored by hand.
