Phase One Launches 100MP Sensor Co-Developed with Sony for XF Medium Format Camera System

Phase One announced it has joined forces with Sony to design a new 100MP CMOS sensor for the new Phase One XF 100MP Camera System. The Phase One XF 100MP Camera System is shipping now and is available through the company’s sales partners worldwide for a whopping $48,990 USD. (The system comes with a Schneider Kreuznach 80mm LS lens.)

Acccording to Phase One, the new medium-format-sized, 100MP chip offers “16-bit color, 15 f-stops of dynamic range, live view capturing with HDMI output, ISO flexibility from 50 to 12800 and exposure times of up to 60 minutes.”

Phase One introduced its XF Camera System in June 2015 and then offered an update to the system in October 2015. Some of the features in Phase One’s XF camera system include Honeybee Auto Focus, Vibration Tracking, Electronic First Curtain Shutter, and Vibration Detection technology.
