Canon Inc. has reached a new lens milestone as production of the company's
EF lenses passed the 30-million mark. Production of interchangeable EF lenses
for Canon EOS-series AF (autofocus) SLR cameras began in 1987 and the company
produced its 10-millionth EF lens in August 1995 and its 20-millionth in February
2001.

In November of 1987 Canon introduced the industry's first
Ultrasonic Motor (USM)-powered lens: the EF 300mm f/2.8L USM. In September 1989,
the EF 50mm f/1.0L USM, featuring the world's largest aperture of f/1.0,
was launched. And in September 1995 the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, equipped
with the world's first Image Stabilizer to correct for the effect of camera
shake, made its debut.

The Canon Rebel T6s and T6i are based on the same camera design: Both use an APS-C sized sensor (Canon's “APS-C” with 22.9 x 14.9 mm) with a resolution of 24MP. They also use the same image processor, the DIGIC 6. However, there are some design differences. While the TS6i looks like a little modified version of its forerunner T5i, the design of the T6s is more reminiscent of the mid-range SLR system EOS 70D. The illustrations provided show the differences in design and setup between the two models.

Canon just announced that it is developing the much-rumored EOS R5 mirrorless camera. The subject of intense speculation over the past month, the Canon EOS R5 is the follow-up to the Canon R and Canon RP, which were the company's first full frame mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.

It's an age-old question and, some would say, a myth. Do Canon cameras really capture better skin tones in portraits than Sony cameras?

From the beaches of the eastern seaboard to the Great Plains, and from the wetlands
of the south, to the towering sequoias of the west, America and its pristine parks
have always been hailed as top destination sites for photography enthusiasts and
their families. Canon U.S.A., Inc. and the American Park Network continue to help
define the relationship between photography and the great outdoors with the introduction
of a free photography workshop program on select dates throughout the summer in
Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks. These programs will be
artfully hosted and instructed by a select few of the world renowned Canon Explorer
of Light photographers including Adam Jones and Lewis Kemper, along with other
Canon-selected photographers such as Rob and Ann Simpson. What's more, the
Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest returns this year to offer photographers
the chance to display their work and win prizes in the categories of landscape
and wildlife photography in the parks.



From June 1st to September 29th, photographic enthusiasts are encouraged to submit
their favorite photographs from an American park to the Canon Digital Learning
Center. Winning photographs in the categories of landscape and wildlife will win
a trip to the participating parks of their choice, along with a full suite of
Canon photographic equipment. By logging onto the Canon Digital Learning Center

potential winners will not only have the opportunity to submit their photos, but
can also peruse the Web site to explore the various educational resources that
Canon has to offer for novices and advanced photographers alike.



With the help of the Canon Explorer of Light program, park visitors will have
the opportunity to participate in free daily guided visual photographic journeys.
Additionally, Canon will loan participants top-tier digital camera equipment to
capture those awe-inspiring sights at no additional cost. Aspiring photographers
will learn the tips and tricks to taking great outdoor photos and experience hands-on
training using some of the same equipment that professional photographers use.
Evening programs are also offered, providing visitors the rare opportunity to
spend time with the Explorers of Light, view stunning imagery, ask questions,
and receive prints and a CD of their own photos.

Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is once again joining forces with several of the country’s acclaimed national parks to offer free photography workshops to visitors this summer. The Canon Photography in the Parks Program provides participants with free equipment loans and professional photography instruction as they take part in a guided walking photo tour. Following the tour, participants have the opportunity to print images for free and take home a CD of their image files. Visitors of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate.
