Canon U.S.A., Inc. has introduced two new Tilt-Shift lenses, the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II and the TS-E 17mm f/4L. These two new L series lenses expand the company’s extensive lens line-up of TS-E lenses giving photographers creative control over perspective and depth of field in their images. Both the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II and the TS-E 17mm f/4L are specialty lenses ideal for landscape and architectural photography and are compatible with all Canon EOS system single lens reflex cameras. The TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, a replacement for Canon’s TS-E 24mm f/3.5L introduced in 1991, has significantly improved operability with low distortion when photographing buildings, consistent image quality throughout the image and reduced chromatic aberration when shooting at ultra-wide angles. The TS-E 17mm f/4L is the world’s shortest focal length Tilt-Shift lens with full-frame 35mm coverage.

Camera gear is expensive and no matter how careful we are, accidents sometimes happen.

While driving around upstate New York during the peak fall foliage season and testing the new Canon EOS 50D, I met the perfect candidate for this camera.

Like cameras in cell phones (and vice versa) and MP3 players in everything, the new Canon EOS 5D Mark II can be thought of as another item in the multimedia trend.

The new EOS 7D fills a gap in Canon’s D-SLR line-up that never existed before, fitting somewhere between the EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 50D; it also goes head-to-head with the Nikon 300S I tested for the January 2010 issue of Shutterbug.

Peter K. Burian  |  Feb 01, 2007

Since the original 6-megapixel Digital Rebel became available in September 2003, this EOS series has been the best selling D-SLR line in the world. The second model, the 8-megapixel Rebel XT, introduced in February 2005, benefited from major improvements in image quality, speed, versatility, and convenience of operation. While the XT is still a fine camera, it was due for an...

While the Rebel appellation hints at amateur status, the $799 price of the Canon T1i (body only; $899 with kit lens, suggested retail) seems to put it in a bit higher (price) class.

Joe Farace  |  Sep 01, 2010

If you look at Canon’s website you’ll notice that the 18-megapixel EOS Rebel T2i sits between the EOS 50D and the price-point EOS Rebel XS, the latter being a camera I tried and disliked intensely.

George Schaub  |  Dec 01, 2008

Dubbed an “entry-level” D-SLR, the new Canon EOS Rebel XS is bound to be found under a number of Christmas trees this year, what with its $699 retail price and included EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. This kit lens is Optical Image Stabilized and adds to the allure of a camera with Live View, dust cleaning with Canon’s “Integrated Cleaning System,” and a (effective)...
