Nikon has caught some flak recently for isolated problems with its recent DSLRs but there’s no denying these cameras can still produce fantastic images and videos. For more evidence of this, check out the two below clips featuring Nikon D750s.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: another one of Nikon’s new full-frame digital SLRs has a problem. In this case, a small number of Nikon D750s have been producing a dark, shadowy band in the frame when capturing images with lens flare. While the issue was first reported by D750 owners who took to YouTube to demonstrate the problem, Nikon eventually acknowledged that the lens flare flaw was real and said it would offer free repairs. Last week, the company issued an official service advisory for the D750, saying that Nikon service centers needed to a adjust the camera’s autofocus sensor “to resolve the occurrence of unnaturally shaped flare.”

Nikon has just made an official statement on why some major retailers, including Amazon, have suddenly seemed to pull all D750 DSLRs from their stock.

Nikon launched a new digital SLR and two long lenses at CES tonight. The company unveiled the D5500, an advanced amateur DSLR sporting a 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter (OLPF) and a new 3.2-inch varia-angle LCD touchscreen on back.

Here we go again. That’s what Nikon owners might be saying to themselves now that another possible problem with a new DSLR from the company has surfaced. Several owners of the new Nikon D750 have reported that a dark shadowy band will appear in images with lens flare. The effect slices off the top of the flare, creating a distracting split between light and shadow across the top of the frame.
