Julia Trotti is one of our favorite photographers for swimwear photography tips videos and she’s back with another one, which features a shootout between two popular cameras. In the video below, Trotti pits her trusty Canon 5D Mark III DSLR against the underdog Sony A7 II mirrorless camera while photographing her model, Jax, in a variety of swimsuits on the beach.

They are three of the most talked about full frame mirrorless cameras on the market right now: the 30.3MP Canon EOS R, the 45.6MP Nikon Z7 and the 42.4MP Sony A7R III. Which one is the best of this power trio?

We can think of few better ways to spend a minute and a half of your Friday afternoon than watching the short and fun animated video below titled “A History of the Photo Camera.”

Cheryl Dunn’s excellent 2013 documentary about street photography, “Everybody Street,” has been available for rent (or as a purchasable download) on Vimeo for several years now but few know that you can also watch it for free on YouTube. The movie is available on FilmRise Features’ YouTube channel and we have embedded it below.

The Nikon D5 professional DSLR has been the clear star (in cameras) of this year’s CES 2016 show in Las Vegas. Indeed, there’s a lot that’s appealling about this flagship, full frame DSLR from Nikon, including its ability to shoot at up to ISO 3,280,000 to capture images in extreme low light conditions.

Ask just about any professional photographer what the top cameras are for capturing sports, photojournalism or wildlife and they’ll likely tell you the Nikon D5, Canon 1D X Mark II or the Sony A9. These full-frame cameras are truly the cream of the crop when it comes to capturing high-quality images of fast action.

We’ve just come back from a press event today to launch the new Sony A6300. This compact mirrorless camera has a lot going for it, including a new 4D Focus system that can lock focus on a subject in as little as 0.05 seconds, which Sony claims is the world’s fastest autofocus (AF) acquisition time.

I shared this on my personal Facebook page yesterday and it’s made the rounds of social media, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already. (And probably worth a re-watch even if you have seen it already.)

Sometimes the best camera is the one that’s with you. Or in the case of Nick Colvin, it was his iPhone.

Now this is really beautiful if more than a bit heart-stopping. In the incredible video below shot from above by a drone off the coast of New Zealand, you can see a group of orcas (aka killer whales) closely follow a lone swimmer near to shore.
