JK Imaging, Ltd., which is now the worldwide licensee for the Kodak brand,  PIXPRO Digital Cameras and Devices, has announced the new Kodak Pixpro SP360 Action Cam. This small and portable device was designed to capture 360-degree HD videos and fully immersive images all in one shot, ie. without the need for multiple cameras or other devices. The SP360 Action Cam is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and features a dome-shaped fixed lens that captures 360-degree HD videos (at 30fps) that can be shot and viewed from multiple vantage points including: 360-degree Panorama, Front (212 degrees), Split with 180 degrees front and rear views simultaneously, Dome (214 degrees) and Ring/Sphere (360 degrees) modes.

SeaLife, the creator of the first digital underwater camera and a leader in underwater photography equipment, has unveiled the new Micro HD camera, a permanently sealed underwater compact camera. SeaLife’s Perma-Seal technology makes the Micro HD waterproof and virtually maintenance-free. This is the first of a series of SeaLife cameras that will utilize the Perma-Seal technology for a wide range of users, from beginners to advanced photographers and divers.

Fujifilm was showing off its new toys at photokina today and we got some hands-on time with these latest X-series cameras and lenses. Initially announced on September 10th, the Fujifilm X100T and XT-1 Graphite Silver cameras, and Fujinon XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR and XF56mm F1.2 R APD lenses continue to build on Fuji’s compact and retro-style (Fuji would say “classic" style) X-Series line.

Leica turned back the clock (again) on its digital rangefinders today, announcing the M Edition 60 model that has no LCD screen on back, just a dial to adjust ISO. The limited edition camera (there will only be 600 made), which celebrates the 60th anniversary of Leica’s M series rangefinders, was unveiled by Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, Leica’s chairman, at a press conference at the photokina show in Germany this morning.

Canon unveiled a premium portable camera at photokina this morning: the 20MP PowerShot G7 X, which uses a large (for a compact model) 1-inch CMOS image sensor and features a multi-angle (up to 180°), flip-up, 3-inch touch capacitive, rear LCD panel with 1,040K dots of resolution.

Panasonic introduced the 12.8-megapixel DMC-LX100 compact camera with a Micro Four Thirds-sized sensor at photokina today. This pocket-friendly shooter features a newly developed, Leica-branded DC Vario-Summilux lens with a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 24-75mm, and an F/1.7-F/2.8 aperture range.

Fujifilm unveiled a new, premium compact camera this morning, the X100T, which is designed to look like a stealthy, digital rangefinder model. The 16.3MP Fuji X100T uses an APS-C size X-Trans CMOS II sensor and has a Fujinon 23mm F2 fixed lens.
