Fujifilm Debuts FUJINON XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR and XF56mm F1.2 R APD Lenses

Fujifilm debuted two lenses this morning: the FUJINON XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR and FUJINON XF56mm F1.2 R APD.

The FUJINON XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR lens has a focal length equivalent to 76-213mm and a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range. The length of the lens barrel remains constant throughout the entire zoom range. It features a weather/dust resistant finish (with more than 20 sealing points), a high-performance gyro sensor, 23 glass elements in 16 groups with 5 ED lens elements and 1 Super ED lens, 7 rounded aperture blades (for bokeh), a new Nano-GI coating, a unique image stabilization algorithm, a bright f/2.8 aperture and it works in temperatures as low as 14˚F. The XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR uses the world’s first Triple Linear Motor for fast, quite autofocusing and shooting.

The FUJIFILM X-Mount is compatible with all FUJIFILM interchangeable system cameras. This lens will be available in December 2014 and will have a retail value of $1599.95.

The FUJINON XF56mm F1.2 R APD (apodization) is a fast, almost silent lens for X-Series CSC’s that has a maximum aperture of F1.2 to make it the world’s brightest autofocus lens for digital cameras with an APS-C sensor. The new apodizing filter is ideal for portrait photography, providing crystal clear details with bokeh and smooth outlines for a 3D feel. The FUJINON XF56mm F1.2 R APD features 11 glass elements in 8 groups—including 1 aspherical glass molded lens element and 2 extra low dispersion lens elements.

The FUJIFILM X-Mount is compatible with all FUJIFILM interchangeable system cameras. It has an HT-EBC multi-layer coating to minimize ghosting and flare, 7 rounded aperture blades (for circular bokeh) and an inner focusing system that moves small elements in the middle or rear of the lens while keeping the large front elements stationary for high speed AF. This lens will be available in December 2014 and will have a retail value of $1499.95.
