Nikon has unveiled the new Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S lens, a new fast prime portrait lens in the Nikkor S-Line of lenses for its Z-series, full frame mirrorless cameras such as the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7. The Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S is designed as a fast aperture lens suited for portrait photography and videography.

Nike announced the 45.7MP Nikon Z7 II and 24.5MP Nikon Z6 II full-frame mirrorless cameras this morning. The two cameras, which are the follow-ups to the Z7 and Z6 from 2018, add some upgrades to the previous models including dual image processors, better autofocus (AF) capabilities and dual memory card slots, though they feature essentially the same image sensors as their predecessors.

Nikon introduced a new entry-level DSLR this morning: the small, lightweight and portable Nikon D3500. Weighing just under 13 ounces (camera body only), and with dimensions of 4.6 x 3.9 x 2.8 inches, the 24.2MP Nikon D3500 is designed to be a highly portable camera for first-time DSLR users including “parents, travelers and photo enthusiasts,” Nikon said in a press announcement today.

Nikon issued an official service advisory this morning for its D750 in the wake of complaints from some photographers that the DSLR produces a dark shadowy band in images with lens flare.  The Nikon service advisory includes a way for photographers to check serial numbers for D750s that might be affected by the problem.
