Watch the Sony A6300 Mirrorless Camera Lock On a Moving Target While Firing at 11fps (VIDEO)

We’ve just come back from a press event today to launch the new Sony A6300. This compact mirrorless camera has a lot going for it, including a new 4D Focus system that can lock focus on a subject in as little as 0.05 seconds, which Sony claims is the world’s fastest autofocus (AF) acquisition time.

The Sony A6300 also features 425 phase detection AF points that are densely positioned over the entire image area, which Sony says are the world’s highest number of AF points on any interchangeable lens camera

And, if you like shooting action such as sports, the Sony A6300 can shoot bursts of images at up to 11 frames per second with continuous autofocus and exposure tracking. We’ve recently shared videos of the new Nikon D5 firing at 12fps and the new Canon EOS-1D X Mark II shooting at 16ps, so in that spirit, here’s one we shot at the Sony press conference today of the A6300 shooting at 11fps.

Note how the camera locks focus on the boxer's face at the start of the burst while continuing to shoot frames. Pretty impressive for a little mirrorless model priced at just $1,000 (body only). Read our full hands-on report with the Sony A6300 here.
