Canon announced two new DSLRs for enthusiast and entry-level photographers this morning: the EOS 77D and EOS Rebel T7i cameras. The Canon EOS 77D slots just below the 80D and just above the Rebel T6s in the company’s DSLR lineup. The Canon Rebel T7i, on the other hand, is the direct successor to the T6i, the company’s entry-level DSLR.

Though it was announced late last month, the new 24-megapixel Pentax KP DSLR made its official debut at the WPPI show in Las Vegas this week and we put our grubby little paws all over this compact yet rugged APS-C sensor-based DSLR.

Ricoh Imaging has just announced the Pentax KP, an ultra-compact, weatherproof DSLR designed for outdoor and travel photographers who shoot on the run and want to travel light. The camera packs many of the advanced features of the sophisticated Pentax K-3 II into a slim, mobile body that weighs only 1.4 pounds.

Some trends just won’t go away: Billboard magazine notes that U.S. vinyl album sales are up 53 percent, generating $416 million in sales. Stereophile, our sister publication, reviews new analog audio equipment and you can purchase new Nikon F6 or Leica M-A film cameras from Shutterbug advertisers. Ferrania is back making film and the Japan Camera Hunter website is making their own film, a discontinued Agfa emulsion they’re calling JCH StreetPan 400. Amazon’s top-selling photo item is Fuji’s Instax Mini Instant Film. There’s even a new twin-lens instant camera, Mint’s InstantFlex TL70, and yes, I gotta get me one of those.

It’s official: the Nikon D5600 DSLR that was launched overseas late last year is coming to U.S. shores this month.

We’ve featured the stunning work of Joe Capra before but the incredible panoramic timelapse of Los Angles that he shot over a two-year period could be his most spectacular video yet. Titled Pano L.A., the six-minute timelapse was captured entirely in true panoramic form using two synced Canon 5D Mark III DSLRs side by side.
