Minox Intros Nissin Di700A Air Flash & Air 1 Commander With New Radio Transmission Wireless System

Nissin just took the next step in the evolution of its popular flash with introduction of the Di700A. This updated model includes a built-in radio receiver—a key part of the new Nissin Air System (NAS). Nissin is also introducing the new Air 1 Commander to wirelessly control the new flash.

NAS is a newly developed 2.4GHz radio transmission wireless system that offers more advantages over a more traditional optical transmission systems. The NAS radio is less susceptible to angle and obstacle limitations with coverage of up to 98 feet. The Air 1 Commander has eight different radio channels to choose from in the event that there is interference on a given channel. The Air 1 Commander will control up to three groups of flashes: A, B and C.  Multiple flashes can be set to each group.

The Air 1 Commander can control the flashes in TTL or Manual settings. It also will allow the user to control the zoom head of the Di700A. The new Di700A will be available in March, followed by the Air 1 Commander and the Kit (which consists of the Di700A and Air 1 Commander for Canon and Nikon systems) and a Sony version will be available this summer.

The retail value of the Di700A for Canon, Nikon and Sony is $259; Air 1 Commander for Canon Nikon and Sony is $79 and Di700A Air and Air 1 Commander kit is $299.
