5 Reasons You Should Consider Buying a 10-Year-Old Olympus Pen E-P1 Camera Today

Classic digital camera expert Mattias Burling does a great job on his YouTube channel of spotlighting slightly older cameras that are still worth buying today. In his latest video, he takes a look at a mirrorless model that might have been ahead of its time: the Olympus Pen E-P1 from 2009.

“This is one of the cameras that started the mirrorless movement,” Burling says about the Olympus E-P1. “It’s the first Micro Four Thirds (MFT)-sensor camera from Olympus and the third MFT camera to be released altogether. Despite being 10 years old it still has some kick left in it.”

He adds that the biggest selling point of the E-P1 back in the day (and still today) is that was the first truly compact mirrorless camera on the market, “which, according to many, is the actual point of having a mirrorless system.”

Here are Burling’s five reasons it’s worth buying an Olympus E-P1 today:

#1 Price

#2 Well Built

#3 Lots of Lenses

#4 Decent Quality

#5 Fun Factor
