Canon U.S.A., Inc. announced that the PIXMA MG8220 and MG6220 Wireless1 Photo All-In-One (AIO) inkjet photo printers now support Google Cloud Print 2 allowing users to print from Gmail and Google Docs on a mobile device and from the Google Chrome browser for Mac, Windows, Linux, and Chrome devices. With Google Cloud Print, you can print from wherever you are, from applications you use every day. You can even share your home and work printers with anyone you choose. The PIXMA MX892 Wireless Office AIO inkjet printer is also scheduled to provide the same support in May.

Canon U.S.A., Inc. announced the expansion of its service facilities with the opening of a new service and support center in Itasca, Ill. This facility, located just outside of Chicago, will provide comprehensive product repair and maintenance of Canon’s professional products to Cinema, Platinum, and Gold level members of Canon’s Professional Services (CPS) program, and owners of Canon professional broadcast lenses.

Canon U.S.A., Inc.announced the addition of a third service support center to be located at the Company’s Canon Virginia Incorporated (CVI) facility in Newport News, VA supporting the Canon Professional Services (CPS) program. In April of this year, Canon extended its CPS membership to qualifying videographers, cinematographers and filmmakers and the overwhelming response received from these new markets has prompted the need for a third CPS support center. The expansion of the CPS program is designed to extend Canon’s support assistance to these professionals with fast service, equipment evaluation loans, and a range of other benefits.

Phase One has released Capture One 7.1.4, a software update that includes support for new cameras and new lens profiles as well as stability and performance improvements.
This release also adds 32 new lens profiles, primarily for Mamiya, Nikon and Pentax lenses. As of today, Capture One supports more than 150 different lens profiles. Phase One is focused on ensuring the highest quality for its available lens profiles. Carl Zeiss has won five product design prizes as part of the prestigious iF design awards 2013. Three ZEISS camera lenses and two cine lenses were presented with an award during a festive ceremony on February 22 in Munich. More than 3,000 products were submitted for the iF product design award 2013, which is now in its 60th year.

Carl Zeiss introduced the Distagon T* 2/25 ZE and ZF.2 moderate wide-angle lenses. The large image angle allows photographers to capture exciting perspectives. In many situations, a flash is an unwelcome feature - at family gatherings, in a museum or in a church for example. To capture the mood in such places, photographers gladly do without aggressive lighting and instead work with particularly high-speed lenses that enable short exposure times even under difficult lighting conditions.

Zeiss has introduced a new series of lenses for the semi-professional market: the
ZF.2 with F bayonet for digital SLRs. Thanks to its electronic interface (CPU),
these new ZEISS lenses support all-important operations such as the automatic
mechanisms for time, aperture setting and program. The CPU also supports manual
exposure settings, including those for camera casings that are not
AI-compatible. Since the lens now transmits the EXIF data such as manufacturer,
date, metering system and exposure to the camera, photographers no longer need
to set the parameters manually.
