Kanguru Solutions has unveiled an external combination hard drive featuring
high-speed transfer rates and capacities up to 500GB. The Kanguru QuickSilver
features both USB 2.0 and Serial ATA connectivity, with blazing transfer rates
of up to 1.5Gb per second! The drive also features a rugged enclosure that resists
up to 200 Gs of shock to protect it from external damage.

Kingston Technology Company, Inc.announced it is upgrading its "Ultimate"
line of CompactFlash memory cards by preloading the cards with Ontrack's
EasyRecovery Professional software version 6.1. Kingston's Ultimate line
of Compact Flash cards is targeted for professional and advanced amateur photographers.


The Ontrack EasyRecovery Professional software provides data recovery capabilities
for lost digital photos. In addition, Kingston will increase the sustained write
speed on its 2/4-GB CompactFlash Ultimate cards from 100x to 133x and will add
a new 8-GB capacity card with a write speed of 133x to the line.


EasyRecovery Professional version 6.1, the latest data recovery software from
Ontrack, is designed to retrieve photos that have been corrupted or accidentally

Kingston Technology Company, Inc. has announced it is expanding
its line of CompactFlash Elite Pro cards with the addition of a new 8-GB card.
The card is for studio, catalog and portrait photographers who need to produce
large files for catalog reproduction and other commercial purposes.  The
8-GB CompactFlash Elite Pro card joins the company’s 512 MB, 1-GB, 2-GB
and 4-GB CompactFlash cards. When used in conjunction with matching high-performance
digital devices, Kingston’s entire line of CF Elite Pro cards are said
to provide ultra-fast transfer times with read speeds up to 8 MB/sec. and write
speeds up to 6.75 MB/sec.

Kingston’s 8-GB Type I CompactFlash Elite Pro card has an
MSRP of $399.99. Kingston notes that some of the listed capacity is used for

Kingston Technology Company, Inc. has announced it will begin producing the new
Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Class 2 card and enhance the function of its
existing 15-in-1 Reader. The new SDHC memory cards are available now in 4GB capacities
with a retail price of $199.00.



The SDHC memory card is a new standard set by the SD Card Association that redefines
performance classifications and capacity. Based on this standard, SDHC cards can
deliver capacities beyond the 2GB threshold of present day SD cards and offer
three speed classes (Class 2, 4, & 6) that guarantee minimum sustained transfer
rates to support large digital video recordings for optimum performance. SDHC
cards will only be recognized by SDHC host devices; manufacturers currently offering
SDHC host cameras include: Canon, Pentax, Sanyo, Casio and Nikon. Kingston will
add SDHC compatibility for its popular 15-in-1 Reader at the time of this launch.
The retail price for the reader will remain $19.00.
