Ilford PHOTO has launched a new competition called White Light, White Heat,
which invites all amateur photographers to demonstrate their creative usage
of Ilford SFX 200 film. This unique ISO200 black-and-white film offers the creative
photographer opportunities not available with conventional monochrome films.
This is due to its advanced emulsion with extended red sensitivity, which allows
the use of filters ranging from yellow to deep red to create outstanding contrast
and textural effects.

Ilford SFX 200 has been reintroduced by Ilford PHOTO after an absence from the
company's film catalog, and is being launched with a special value promotional
pack of three rolls of 35mm ILFORD SFX 200 plus an ILFORD Cokin 'P' filter.

The Ilford SFX 200 competition offers a first prize of a professionally framed
print of the winning image plus $400 of Ilford Photo products. The second and
third place winners will receive $200 and $100 of Ilford Pnoto products respectively.

In line with the market transition from the darkroom to the digital arena, Ilford
set itself the benchmark of producing the equivalent of a classic air-dried, gloss,
black and white fiber based silver image print using current inkjet digital technology.
The product that meets this benchmark is now available in the Galerie Brand Inkjet
Line from Ilford and it is formally tagged as Galerie Gold Fibre Silk.

Galerie Gold Fibre Silk is a 310gsm inkjet media featuring a traditional barium
sulfate (baryta) base. The baryta base enhances the media surface producing the
creamy whites and velvety blacks that form part of the unique look and feel of
a traditional fiber based print; the standard amongst art photographers worldwide.
The media also produces real high definition images with an extended tonal range,
making it a must for exhibition quality images, ranging from vivid color to dramatic
black and whites.

The assembly is completed by a backing layer, which ensures that the final printed
image has minimal curl. Galerie Gold has been specifically designed with no unnecessary
additives in the media to guarantee the image lasts and lasts just like a traditional
photo print.

Just as traditional silver halide photographs demonstrate, extreme emotions can
be captured in an image through warm or cold tones. These same results can be
produced digitally, and Ilford has created specific recommendations on using filter
factors to create 'digital toning'. Ranging from standard black and white, warm
tone, cool tone and sepia to gold, selenium and blue, the only limit is the photographer's
imagination. These filter factors together with custom ICC profiles are available
for free on the website: www.ilford.com.

Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk will be available from October 2007, in the following

8.5"x11", 13"x19", 17"x22" in 10 and 50 sheet packs

As part of its campaign to `Defend the Darkroom', Ilford Photo
- the monochrome brand of Harman technology Limited -- has announced a
special initiative in support of ultra large format (ULF) photographers. In
an increasingly digital world, these photographers can find it difficult to
buy the specialist analog products they require due to a shrinking number of
manufacturers and stocking dealers. However, to help ULF users overcome this
limited availability, as well as the need to purchase a minimum order quantity,
Ilford Photo has revealed it is running a two month ULF product ordering window.

Underlining its commitment to the world of black-and-white photography, Ilford
Photo is in the process of reintroducing various specialist films. Leading this
movement, and available from March 2007, is ILFORD SFX 200 film.

Ilford SFX 200 is a special film with extended red sensitivity perfect for landscapes
and similar subjects due to its ability to add high definition to green foliage,
cloud formations and open skies, especially when combined with the ILFORD SFX
200 Cokin 'P' series mounted red filter. It is also popular with architectural
photographers due to its characteristic for emphasizing contrasting textures.

A medium speed panchromatic film, Ilford SFX 200 is available in 35mm and 120
roll film. It has long been a favorite with specialist photographers, but ceased
production when the company went through a corporate reorganization in 2005. Because
of its sensitivity, the film will be produced in small quantities on a 'made on
demand' basis to ensure that it is always fresh and fully active.

Ilford SFX 200 is available in special value promotional packs which contain three
rolls of 36x135 film plus an Ilford Cokin P red filter.

An Ilford SFX 200 print competition is planned to encourage photographers to experience
the versatility of this film, and to put their artistic talents to the test. Full
details will be announced shortly.

The following release was received from Ilford. While a bit breathless, it
shows the enthusiasm and effort involved in keeping the company afloat. I did
edit somewhat for length. --gs

After some four months of highly geared activity following the announcements
in February this year that ILFORD had been saved from total annihilation, the
newly emerged organization is now able to draw breath and assess its current
situation.

It was due to the swift and timely action of six of ILFORD Imaging's management
team - at some considerable personal financial risk to themselves - that the
UK-based company which headed the international group avoided being split up,
asset stripped, or otherwise totally lost. Via a cleverly constructed operation,
the liquidators were able to sell off the considerable areas of land at the
company's plant in Mobberly, Cheshire, to an investment company on the basis
that the plant would remain, thereby enabling the rest of the business to fall
within the capabilities of the team.

What amounted to something of a coup in the face of determined interest expressed
by 21 potential suitors which pursued the company through its most vulnerable
stages saw the team able to provide a more attractive solution to the liquidator.
This included not only satisfying the demands of the liquidation, but also ensuring
the continuation of a business which, over its 125-year history, had established
itself as the leading monochrome specialist.

Having had the deal and the buyout accepted to much acclaim, the team then had
to get the company fully on track: manufacturing processes operating, stocks
up to appropriate levels, sales, marketing and distribution fully functioning,
staffing organized and relations with both the company's overseas distributors
and its worldwide customers being re-established on a progressive basis. "It
has been a pretty hectic four months," states chairman and managing director
Phil Harris, "but we now have the company on a strong basis and ready
to take on the world in our endeavors to revitalize the ILFORD name."

ILFORD Photo is the trading name of HARMAN technology Ltd, the company under
which the new enterprise trades, and is the brand which will be used for all
monochrome products - film, paper and photochemistry. The HARMAN brand (drawn
from the name of ILFORD's founder in 1879, Alfred Harman) will be applied to
other aspects of the company's business, such as thin-layer film and paper coating
for the medical sector, as it becomes further organized.

The distributors in USA, France, Benelux, Switzerland and Australia are no longer
subsidiaries of ILFORD UK, but since their former parent company's crash, they
have re-organized themselves, mostly as independent companies, and will continue
handling the supply of ILFORD Photo products to their respective markets, as
do the many other companies which make up the global network of suppliers. The
ILFORD digital products manufacturing base in Switzerland is still involved
in discussions concerning its future.

HARMAN technology/ILFORD Photo now stands totally independent of any corporate
ties to the erstwhile group, and is concentrating on what it knows best, and
to which it is totally committed - black-and-white photography.

"Black-and-white analogue photography is the platform to which we are
all dedicated," explains Howard Hopwood, HARMAN/ILFORD Photo's marketing
and business development director. "Quite frankly, the rebirth of ILFORD
as a brand concentrating on this genre could not have been better timed.

"The world imaging market has been jumping through all kinds of hoops
over the last few years as it has come to terms with digital processes, just
as much as it has with the progress of color photography. Having done that,
and turned full circle back to its roots, those who really care about expressive
photography, and about preserving images in all their beauty, still acknowledge
that black-and-white is the one true medium.

It is this dedication to black-and-white, shared by Harris and Hopwood with
their fellow HARMAN technology directors: Andy Taylor (Finance Director), Steven
Brierley (Sales Director UK, USA and Australia), Simon Galley (Sales Director
European and Export Markets), and Peter Elton (Operations Director), which provides
the catalyst for the company's determined and carefully formulated assault on
the global market.

Nearly 400 people are now employed at Mobberly, with technology and production
capability up to full capacity. Eighty-five per cent of output is being exported,
and global distribution channels are all open. The management is in place and
fully functioning, as are all sales departments and personnel.

In view of the uncertainty that has existed in the worldwide monochrome consumables
field recently, especially regarding availability of black-and-white paper,
ILFORD Photo's relaunch of its comprehensive range of top quality products,
which includes a variety of black-and-white paper types, and the company's assurances
of continued future manufacture, are especially timely for the many enthusiasts
and professional photographers concerned about future supplies.

"In spite of being so busy over these months," comments Harris,
"the process has been cathartic, and great fun. Having structured the
company into a fully operational organization, we now look forward to facing
the challenge in all our marketplaces. If the extremely positive reaction we
have received so far is anything by which to judge, we can expect to be in a
very solid position very quickly."

Following recent news of Ilford Photo/Harman technology's formation of a subsidiary
company in the USA to handle technical support across North America, the company
has now issued details of a global technical services network.

Heading up Worldwide Technical Services is USA-based Rod Parsons who has been
responsible for technical support in North America for the past 18 years. Parsons
was previously manager of Worldwide Technical and Equipment Services for the previous
Ilford Imaging Group, and technical services manager for black-and-white paper
at the company's manufacturing plant in Mobberley, UK. Given which, he brings
a wide range of knowledge and experience to the position.

In addition, Parsons is chairman of the Board of Advisors to the Image Permanence

Image Trends has announced the Fisheye-Hemi Plug-In. This Adobe Photoshop Plug-in
compatible filter renders an aesthetically pleasing and natural view of people.
Human faces and bodies are natural and undistorted, even on the edges. Fisheye-Hemi
corrects the extreme distortion of people, which is common with rectilinear methods.
Fisheye-Hemi preserves more of the original resolution, displays the intended
composition and framing as seen in the viewfinder, and straightens vertical lines.
