Panasonic has just announced it’s coming out with an intriguing new technological function called “Post Focus” that lets you focus on a specific area in a photo after you’ve shot the image. The company also said that it’s developing two new lenses: a Leica DG 200-800mm and LUMIX G 25 mm/F1.7.

Panasonic announced today that it’s developing the new Lumix GH5 mirrorless camera, which will be capable of recording smooth, high-precision 4K 60p/50p and faithful 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video “for the first time in the world.” The Panasonic Lumix GH5 will also features “6K PHOTO,” which extracts approximately 18-megapixel still images from ultra-high-quality video with approximately nine times the pixel count of Full-HD.

Panasonic today expanded its LUMIX family of digital cameras with the introduction
of the compact LUMIX DMC-FX100, the world's first to feature 12.2 Megapixel
resolution with a 28mm wide-angle. The newly developed and exclusive 28mm wide-angle
LEICA DC lens features 3.6x optical zoom, f/2.8 brightness, 1/1.72-inch large
CCD and Intelligent Image Stabilization with Mega O.I.S. and Intelligent ISO
Control. The LUMIX DMC-FX100 will be equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD screen, and
its slim lightweight design makes it extremely portable and stylish.

Panasonic has announced the expansion of its U.S. battery portfolio with
Infinium, a new nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery. Available
in the
spring of 2007, this advanced battery can be charged up to1000 times. Infinium's
technology is said to be stable and reliable over its extended lifetime. The
batteries
retain their ability to store maximum power, even after hundreds of charges.
In contrast, say the company, the capacities of ordinary rechargeable batteries
decrease rapidly.

Panasonic took the wraps off a new mirrorless camera at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas: the Lumix GH5S, which is designed for professional filmmakers and videographers along with photographers. The Panasonic GH5S, which follows on the heels of the popular GH5 mirrorless camera, features a newly developed 10.2MP MOS imaging sensor, designed to be particularly sensitive while shooting in low light.

Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-GX85 this morning, a 16-megapixel mirrorless compact system camera with a more affordable pricetag. The Panasonic GX85 is the follow-up to the Panasonic GX8, which was introduced last summer and is the flagship model in the Lumix mirrorless line.
