Pentax Imaging Company has announced the Pentax K10D digital SLR camera with
10.2 effective megapixels and a host of advanced technologies including a Pentax-developed
Shake Reduction (SR) system and a weather- resistant body.



The most significant features in the K10D include a Pentax-developed Shake Reduction
(SR) system that effectively offers a 2.5 to 4 stop advantage for sharp, blur-free
images even under difficult shooting conditions, such as macro and telephoto
photography or low light settings without a flash. The system does not require
special anti-shake lenses and can be used with more than 24 million Pentax lenses
produced since 1964.

PENTAX Imaging Company has announced two new digital SLR camera models including
the PENTAX K20D digital SLR camera with 14.6 megapixels and the PENTAX K200D
digital SLR with 10.2 megapixels. Both cameras are equipped with advanced features
including dust-proof and weather-resistant bodies, an improved PRIME image processor,
and PENTAX developed Shake Reduction that works with any of the 24 million PENTAX
lenses ever manufactured.

Pentax has announced the smc DA FISH-EYE 10--17mm F3.5-4.5 ED [IF] lens.
Designed exclusively for use with the Pentax line of digital SLRs, this interchangeable
lens offers fish-eye to super wide-angle performance in a single unit. Mounted
on the Pentax *ist D series of digital SLRs, the new lens will capture fish-eye
imagery with a 180° angle-of-view and a focal length of 10mm.

PENTAX Imaging Company has announced three additional digital SLR products
that are currently under development and that were showcased under glass at
the PMA show. PENTAX has confirmed that the company will unveil a yet to be
named PENTAX 10 megapixel digital SLR camera body, tentatively scheduled for
a formal launch in Autumn 2006.

Pentax Imaging Company has announced the Pentax Optio A40, the latest model
in the Optio A series of advanced compact digital cameras with superior image
quality and performance. Featuring 12 megapixels, this latest Optio features
three types of Shake Reduction including mechanical, digital and movie. Each
version helps deliver sharp, blur-free shots where camera shake is an issue
such as action photography or in low light conditions at dawn, dusk or at night.
The Optio A model also features the newest Face Recognition technology including
a Natural Skin Tone mode and a Half-length Portrait mode, which automatically
takes a head and shoulder photograph of subjects.

Eastman Kodak Company has expanded its image sensor portfolio for medium-format
camera manufacturers with announcement of the KODAK KAF-18000CE, a new 18 million
pixel image sensor. This sensor has been selected by Pentax Corporation for
use in the PENTAX 645 Digital camera now being developed. With 18.6 million
total pixels, the sensor provides an output resolution of 18 megapixels to capture
images with exceptional clarity and detail. New to the KAF-18000CE is a dual-output
architecture that enables faster sensor read-out times, allowing camera designers
to achieve increased frame rates in their final camera designs. With this unique
combination of image quality and speed, the KAF-18000CE is said to provide manufacturers
with an affordable image sensor that is ideal for landscape, fashion, or wedding
photography.
