Canon PowerShot N2: The PowerShot N2 camera is a Wi-Fi (and NFC-enabled) high-spec model that can capture high-quality images to post to your social networking websites. The N2 even allows users to shoot remotely from a smartphone or tablet. The Self Portrait mode takes advantage of the camera's selfie-ready, multi-angle touch panel LCD, showing you in a flattering light. 

Three years ago while looking for his next challenging project, Reuben Krabbe, a 25-year-old Canadian photographer, dreamt up the expedition that had brought a crew of nine—including Cody Townsend, Brody Leven and Chris Rubens, filmmaker Anthony Bonello, and photographer Bjarne Salén—to their frozen campsite, located in one of two places on earth with a perfect view of the total solar eclipse on March 20, 2015.

One of the most enduring and ubiquitous axioms in photography is that it’s the photographer behind the camera, not the camera itself that creates the image. Canon held its once-every-five-years Canon Expo 2015 show in New York City last September where the Tokyo-based company pulled back the curtain on some potentially groundbreaking imaging technology. Part science lab and part marketing showcase, the event drew tens of thousands of buyers, dealers, and distributors of Canon products (along with a large group of journalists) eager to see what the company had up its sleeve.

Phottix’s 500 watt-second Indra500 TTL Studio Light merges speedlight and monolight technologies and is controlled by the company’s Odin TTL Flash Trigger that works with Canon and Nikon SLRs. (Indra is the Hindu warrior god of sky and rain.)

Fujifilm just took the wraps off its new premium mirrorless camera: the X-Pro2. The flagship X-Series camera is the follow-up to Fuji’s X-Pro1 from 2012 and while it looks similar to that rangefinder-style model, the X-Pro2 adds a host of new features.

Midway in my talk with Daryl Hawk about his travel photography, he mentioned that it was relatively easy for him to approach people and get their okays for impromptu portrait sessions. “I’m polite, I know something of their culture, and I spend time with them,” he said. Then he added, “And I speak a universal language.”
