Fujifilm Announces IR (Infrared) Version of Pro-Level X-T1 Mirrrorless Camera

Fujifilm announced today it will be offering an IR (Infrared) version of its pro-level X-T1 mirrorless camera. Called, appropriately, the Fujifilm XT-1 IR (Infrared), the camera is aimed at law enforcement, medical research and scientific communities, which use IR photography as part of their work, Fuji said. Applications include crime scene investigation, healthcare diagnostics and observation, and other scientific and technical applications.

“The reflection of a chandelier onto a television screen is kind of a weird thing to photograph, but I loved the prism-like effect the light made on the screen. I just had to take the shot,” writes Stevenson.

This image was captured with a Nikon D3200, a Tamron 18-270mm lens at 70mm, f/5.6, 1/810 sec, ISO 1600.

A few years back, while waiting for a beautiful but thoroughly flakey model in the parking lot of a restaurant near Liberty State Park, my boredom was interrupted by a black Lincoln Town Car that slipped suspiciously past me and parked a few spaces away. After several minutes, two men exited the sedan. They were wearing tuxedos and looked rather serious. The trunk lid popped open. Ignoring me completely, they rummaged through the trunk. One of the men removed his tux jacket and strapped on a large black holster. A moment later, the other did the same. I slid down in my seat, wondering if I was about to witness some weird reenactment of High Noon, right there in Jersey City.
