Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Nevada’s Mustang” by Johnny L. Smith

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day is a stunning portrait of a horse by Johnny L. Smith.

“While driving around today, I came across a herd of wild horses (Mustangs) in a residential area in the county where I reside. This horse was actually grazing on the sage and when I caught his attention. I liked the composition with the surrounding sagebrush so I began snapping away with my Nikon 800E.” writes Smith.

The image was captured with a Nikon D800E, Nikkor 70-200 ED VR 1:2.8 lens at 200mm, F/2.8, ISO 100, 1/500 sec and edited using Lightroom 5.

I would like to give my thanks (and appreciation) to Shutterbug for choosing my picture for the Photo of the Day contest. As a novice (or intermediate photographer) this meant a lot to me. Thank you very much.
