Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Mt. Rose Sunrise” by Michael Smith

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day is a gorgeous panoramic landscape sunrise by Michael Smith. It doesn’t get much better than this. Great capture!

“Each of four mornings, I drove to the summit of the Mount Rose Highway near Lake Tahoe, Nevada, in the hope of capturing a beautiful sunrise,” Smith writes. “The skies just didn't want to cooperate on the first three mornings, but on the last morning of my trip (March 20, 2016) I was rewarded with this glorious sunrise!"

He captured it with a Sony A6300 camera and 18-200mm lens with no filter on a Gitzo Traveller tripod with a Really Right Stuff A6000 L bracket and Quick-release clamp.

It’s a two-shot pano stitched in Lightroom 6. It was captured at ISO 200, 20mm as a one-second exposure at f/16.
