Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Joy’s Scream” by Louie Rochon

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day is a beautiful macro shot by Louie Rochon of a vividly colored flower in glorious full bloom.

“A Blue Dahlia, which I shot in complete darkness using a single hand held halogen light which I 'breathlessly' move around my flower with 'very' long exposures (15-30 seconds, on average) ... a process that many of my friends kid me as—The Dance.

This process allows light to shine through the flower, allowing the glow and color of the actual flower to show its true color. I call this it's natural essence—the spirit,” writes Rochon.
