Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Bearded Dragon” by Lorenzo Cassina

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day by Lorenzo Cassina is a crystal clear portrait of a bearded dragon that offers the viewer a close-up look at each and every scale.

“Pogona is a reptile often known as bearded dragon referring to the ‘beard’ in the underside of the throat turning black when stressed or seeing potential rivals. They are adept climbers spending time on branches and bushes near human habitation found throughout much of Australia deserts. Photographed at Flamingo Gardens in Davie, Florida,” writes Cassina.

This image was captured with a Nikon D80, a Sigma 70-300mm lens and a 20mm extension tube at 1/100 sec, f/9, ISO 320.
