Sharpcast Photo Update

Sharpcast has released a new version of its popular Sharpcast Photos software-service combination for automatically backing up digital photos online and sharing them with no manual uploading or web browsing required. In addition to the new release, Sharpcast is offering special free prints promotions to new members, members who refer their friends to Sharpcast, and people who choose to make a switch to Sharpcast from Yahoo! Photos as their service comes to an end this summer.

Among the many unique features improved in version 1.1 is the ability to effortlessly create and share group albums, in which several people can contribute original full-resolution photos to the same album.

Sharpcast Photos version 1.1, available for free at www.sharpcast.com, adds the ability to create interactive slideshows to their blog, website or MySpace page, so anyone viewing the slideshow can write comments on the photos that sync right to the album owner's PC.

Another addition is custom URLs (for example, your_name.sharpcast.com), allowing members to create their own personalized web space for their photos free of charge. The company is also delivering a new version of Sharpcast Photos mobile edition for Windows Mobile phones. The new edition lets users view group albums and albums shared with them by others right on their phone, along with their entire PC photo collection.

Now Sharpcast members have a chance to earn free prints every time they share photos. Sharpcast members receive 10 free prints whenever someone they share photos with signs up for a free Sharpcast account. New customers also receive free prints upon signing up for an account and up to 100 free prints for upgrading to a premium account. Details on the sharing, signup and upgrade promotions are at www.sharpcast.com/offers/invite_a_friend.

Perfect for Switching from Yahoo! Photos
Sharpcast Photos is said to be the ideal alternative for Yahoo! Photos customers whose accounts will no longer be active after the shutdown of the Yahoo! Photos service later this summer. Sharpcast provides a secure and private place for photos online as they can only be viewed by invited friends and family. Switching from Yahoo! Photos to Sharpcast is effortless, since unlike traditional photo sites, Sharpcast's free software automatically uploads photos from PC hard drives without any manual web uploading required from the customer.

All Yahoo! Photos customers are also eligible to receive up to 110 free prints from Sharpcast. Details on switching from Yahoo! Photos to Sharpcast can be found at www.sharpcast.com/offers/yahoo.
