You’ve probably heard this one before: you should shoot portraits with mid-range lenses like an 85mm or an 100mm to create the most flattering look. Or this one: don’t shoot a portrait with a wide-angle lens because it will make a person’s face look distorted.

Travel photographer Pierre T. Lambert is currently doing a “7-Day Challenge,” where he shoots everything with just a 24mm F/1.4 lens. Last week we shared his street photography tips for using a wide-angle lens and now here are his astrophotography tips with the same 24mm lens.

One nagging issue with digital cameras is that they tend to give teeth in portraits an unappealing, yellow cast. Combine this with the fact that a lot of people consume coffee, sodas, and other substances that can stain teeth, and you likely have a lot of yellowy choppers popping up in your portraits.
