Un/Natural Color, an exhibition of color photography from the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s (SBMA) permanent collection, illustrates the history of color photography since the 19th century and examines how the shifted or faded colors of old photographs can evoke moments in the historical past.

The New York Institute of Photography just launched a brand new version of its photoshop course for photographers who are interested in learning professional photo editing techniques from home. The course, titled The Complete Course in Digital Photography: Photoshop for Photographers, teaches Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Lightroom.

The X-E1 is the second mirrorless system camera made by Fujifilm. In contrast to the X-Pro1, it has an electronic viewfinder with ultrahigh resolution (2.3 million RGB dots) instead of the X-Pro1’s hybrid viewfinder (combination of optical viewfinder and electronic viewfinder).

Our Picture This! assignment this month was “Construction Compositions” and we requested images that incorporated the color, design, and abstractions that building and industrial sites offer. Readers sent in images that showed the complexity of potential for rich images these places afford through the use of an intermix of angles and textures, the hubbub of human activity that goes into building, and in some cases ironic images that show the effect of all that effort on nature and within the cities we live. We also received photos that were almost lyrical in nature, with plays of light and color that an abstract painter could admire.

Photo District News (PDN) has released its extensive list of educational seminars during the PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo -- October 23-26, 2013 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. More than 90 seminars, keynote presentations, and symposiums will be presented by the world’s foremost experts on the trends, technology, and creative techniques in the fields of photography, video, post-production, and business development. In addition, many of this year's seminars and symposiums will celebrate the 30th anniversary of PhotoPlus Expo with topics supporting the show theme, "Honoring the Past, Envisioning the Future."

Worcester Art Museum is pleased to announce the photography exhibition, Winogrand's Women are Beautiful, on view August 10 through November 10, 2013. Worcester Art Museum owns a complete portfolio of the Women are Beautiful series by photographer Garry Winogrand (American, 1928-1984). 68 of the 85 images will be on view. Photographs feature black and white images of young adult women taken primarily during the 1960s and early 1970s.

The S115 is a camera pack that features a legendarily tough Pelican laptop case integrated with a water resistant, front compartment with padded dividers that hold and protect multiple camera bodies, lenses, flashes and other camera equipment. Its built-in laptop case is a watertight, crushproof and impact resistant compartment that can fit an Ultrabook or any 15" notebook up to 1" thickness or any 17" MacBook.

There are two types of fisheye: circular and diagonal. The Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical Fisheye Lens is of the diagonal type, delivering a rectangular image with cropped-sensor lenses. The lens I worked with is designed for the Nikon DX (APS-C/cropped) sensor. The APS-C version provides a 180-degree field of view. Other versions are available for other “cropped-sensor” interchangeable-lens cameras, including Micro Four Thirds. My tests were conducted using the Nikon D300.
