Tamron Says It's Developing SP 15-30MM F/2.8 Fast Wide-Angle Zoom Lens with VC
In lens development news, Tamron said it’s creating a new ultra wide-angle zoom lens for full-frame DSLRs with a fast F/2.8 aperture and VC (Vibration Compensation), which the company claims would be the world’s first in this category.
The lens will be called the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A012) and the company will showcase a prototype of the optic at the Tamron booth at the photokina show in Cologne, Germany next week. (Shutterbug is currently on the ground in Cologne and we’ll check out the lens when we stop by Tamron’s booth next week.)
No pricing or a launch date for the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A012) have been announced yet. The company released the following specs for the upcoming lens:
