Here’s What Happens When You Slice Open a Canon Lens with a 60,000 PSI Waterjet (VIDEO)

We’re not quite sure what the folks at the Waterjet YouTube channel have against Canon gear, but in this somewhat sacrilegious video they use a 60,000 psi hydraulic tool to slice open a perfectly good Canon 17-85mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens. Just because.

You know things aren’t likely to turn out well when a demonstration begins with a guy using a meat cleaver to open package. But that’s par for the course with the Waterjet team who regularly use a 60,000 psi waterjet to explore the insides of everyday objects.

While these guys have their photo terminology a bit confused, it’s clear that their lens is no match for the powerful waterjet. You can find more insanity on the Waterjet YouTube channel, and be sure to watch an earlier video of theirs we posted to see a working Canon Elan 7E 35mm SLR sliced in half.
