Fujifilm Unveils New Top-of-the-Line X-Pro2 Mirrorless Camera

Fujifilm just took the wraps off its new premium mirrorless camera: the X-Pro2. The flagship X-Series camera is the follow-up to Fuji’s X-Pro1 from 2012 and while it looks similar to that rangefinder-style model, the X-Pro2 adds a host of new features.

The Fuji X-Pro2 uses an APS-C-sized 24.3-megapixel X-Trans CMOS III sensor and features a unique Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder that can quickly switch between optical and electronic finders. While a similar hybrid viewfinder first appeared in the Fujifilm X100 in 2011, Fuji says this latest version is its most advanced yet. The Fuji X-Pro2 also adds the new X-Processor Pro, which Fuji says delivers “dramatically improved response times” to the camera.

The build of the Fuji X-Pro2 is also more robust than its predecessor. It has a weather-resistant body with a chassis made from four pieces of magnesium alloy. The X-Pro2 is sealed with more than 61 points, making it dust-proof, splash-proof and operates in temperatures as low as 14°F. It also has dual SD card slots.

The Fuji X-Pro2 also adds a new monochrome ACROS film simulation mode designed to produce black-and-white images image with “smooth tones, deep blacks and rich textures,” according to Fujifilm. The X-Pro2, like all of Fuji’s X-Series cameras, is compatible with its line of Fujinon X-Mount interchangeable lenses.

Here’s a rundown of all the key features in the Fujifilm X-Pro2:
