Behold the Serene Minimalist B&W Landscapes of Greek Nature Photographer George Digalakis

George Digalakis is a fine art photographer born and raised in Athens, Greece where he still lives today. He says he subscribes to Minimalism, both as an art movement and a philosophy of life, and his beautiful nature images are really something to behold.

Digalakis embarked on a career behind the lens a mere six years ago after studying photography and becoming acquainted with the works of both classic and contemporary photographers. He says, “I realized this medium would offer me a gateway from reality and enable me to express my inner world.”

His stunning imagery bridges the gap between realism and the surreal, and the influence of Minimalist photographers and artists is clearly evident in his work. Digalakis says he rarely attempts to capture the moment, explaining, “I can best convey my inner vision and underlying emotions by ignoring reality.”

Digalakis says he uses long exposures and shoots in black and white to further distance his work from reality. He also creates a sense of passing time by eliminating details from the background and highlighting his foreground subjects.

The result of this sparse peaceful style is a gorgeous body of work that conveys a unique perspective of the world around us.
