For the fifth straight year, the juried Annual New Mexico Photographic Art Show (ANMPAS) will reveal a truly stunning image collection to the public that ranges from evocative toprovocative and from humorous to haunting.
From Sunday, December 8th until Sunday, December 29th, ANMPAS will display nearly two hundred images that showcase some of the very finest work available by New Mexico photographers.
“A Democracy of Images: Photographs from the Smithsonian American Art Museum” celebrates the
numerous ways in which photography, from early daguerreotypes to contemporary digital works, has
captured the American experience. The exhibition features landscape photography, formal portraits,
scientific images, vernacular snapshots, documentary-style works from the New York Photo League,
images from surveying expeditions sent west after the Civil War and more.
”Korda and the Revolutionary Image,” a new exhibition at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon, features photographs of such historical figures as Fidel Castro, Raúl Corrales and Che Guevara, taken by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda. The exhibition is on view in the JSMA’s Focus Gallery through January 26, 2014.
Significant improvements have been made to the product that is now renamed ILFORD MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC. The new paper is available in Glossy and Matt surfaces and offers sharper images, improved maximum density and shorter exposure times. The new MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC has also been developed to better respond to traditional toning techniques than the product it replaces. This new fibre base product gives a cool image colour with crisp whites and well separated mid tones.
The Cultural Cordon Exhibition Hall in Burgos (Spain) hosts, until August 25, "A Portable History of Photography. Lola Garrido's Collection", with more than one hundred images of sixty-three different authors belonging to the personal collection of Lola Garrido. In the exhibition are represented the great masters in the history of photography, from the mid-nineteenth century until the Decade of the nineties of the twentieth century. It is the first time that so large selection is made (so far has been showed fragmented or as part of thematic exhibitions) with the intention of addressing the practical totality of the history of the photography, through the most representative authors. The exhibition has been produced by Caja de Burgos and coordinated by diChroma photography.
