Panasonic announced pricing for the highly-anticipated LUMIX DMC-GH1, the new Micro Four Thirds digital camera with Full-High Definition (HD) video recording ability. The camera will be available in early June for a suggested retail price of $1499.95.  The LUMIX DMC-GH1 includes the LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm/F4.0-5.8 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. lens as part of the kit.  The new lens, designed to support HD movie recording, features a silent motor and continuous auto focusing (AF) capability – a differentiator from traditional DSLRs.

Panasonic has announced the world's first Micro Four Thirds system camera,
the LUMIX DMC-G1, the world's smallest and lightest digital interchangeable
lens camera, weighing in at approximately 385 grams (0.85 lbs). Based on the
new Micro Four Thirds System standard, the LUMIX G1 eliminates the internal
mirror structure that defines digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras, thus
reducing the size and weight by nearly half. With the mirror-less system, the
G1's flange back, which is the distance between the mount and the image
sensor, has been reduced from 40 mm -- as specified in the Four Thirds
System -- to approximately 20 mm.

Panasonic announced the new LUMIX DMC-FZ35, a digital camera featuring AVCHD Lite, High Definition (HD) video recording capability, combined with a powerful 27mm wide-angle, 18x optical zoom LEICA DC lens. A successor to the popular FZ28, the FZ35 packs enhanced creative features combined with the power to shoot HD videos, including motion zoom capabilities to take full advantage of the 18x zoom.  The operational layout of the FZ35 includes a dedicated video record button, making it a true hybrid – a single model that performs seamlessly at capturing both still and motion images – while still providing smooth and easy operation in either mode.
