This photograph was made with a Nikon D700 body using a Nikon 16-35mm lens at 22 mm. The exposure was made at ISO 200 with aperture at f/8 and a shutter speed of 1/250 second. It was made by Gary Larsen in Yellowstone National Park at the West Thumb Geyser Basin on the edge of Yellowstone Lake. I was intrigued with the colorful flows created by the bacteria living in the thermally heated waters as they flowed into the Lake. I also wanted to capture the criss cross texture of the small waves on the Lake with the mountains in the far distance all in deep focus.
