These Ridiculous Images Were Made by Splicing Together Unrelated Photos and Playing with Scale

Stephen McMennamy is a photographer and creative director with a sense of humor, and his “Combophotos” project is a collection of humorous images he made by splicing together two unrelated photos into a single image. It’s a fun and simple technique you should try yourself over the coming long weekend.

McMennamy works at the BBDO advertising agency in Atlanta and when he’s not using his imagination on big accounts like AT&T, he’s creating these mind-bending mashups.

After shooting the photos himself, McMennamy experiments with scale before combining the two images, leaving the splices between photos intact.

McMennamy’s images start with food, animals, and other unrelated objects that result in a witty final result, due in large part to the disparate elements involved and the ridiculous differences in scale.

In short, everything McMennamy does is unbelievable, which is exactly why it works. So let your imagination run wild and give this a try yourself.
