Photographer Travels the World to Capture These Astonishing Macro Cityscapes in Drops of Water

Dusan Stojancevic is a Serbian photographer specializing in time lapse, travel, landscape, food, and wedding photography. He’s recently made some truly astonishing cityscapes by capturing iconic sites throughout the world in drops of water using a macro lens.

Because Stojancevic prefers to use his images straight out of the camera, without post processing in Photoshop, his raindrop buildings have a soft, almost surreal quality to them without a sharply defined point of focus. The lead image above depicts a night view of the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul.

Stojancevic’s technique is one that you can replicate yourself with a macro lens, a bit of location scouting, and some experimentation. They key is to position yourself in front of a picturesque building in the right light after a rainstorm has passed through.

In the image above, Stojancevic photographed the Saint Sava Church is his hometown of Belgrade. As you might guess, he captured the image below of the Brooklyn Bridge during a recent trip to New York.

You can see more of Stojancevic’s amazing work on his website and Instagram page. Enjoy!
