If mama bear had been around I wouldn't have been there, but here's the story. Was taking pictures of Jackson Waterfalls and decided to stake out a new vantage point so I started walking down the sidewalk along the road. Two bear cubs appeared out of nowhere and proceeded to climb a tree no more than 5 feet in front of me. Very quickly mama did appear and coax them down and across the street, and up into the woods. Two women walking up from the other direction then told us she was probably circling around to retrieve her other cub that she left in a tree at the resort down the hill. We headed for the resort to see if we could find the cub which we did. Mama never appeared although we were constantly on the lookout.
Although these animals are adorable, caution and respect of nature always prevails!
