The world’s mountains have always captured our imagination, and photographers have spent careers documenting the majesty of high peaks only accessible to a few. Swiss photographer Sebastien Staub is one such artist, and his images often strike a softer, more sublime note than those of others.

Staub is a landscape shooter who also does commercial work as well as adventure/travel photography. But when he turns his lens toward the breathtaking mountains that are virtually in his backyard, he often does so not from a mountaineering or travel perspective, but rather through the eye of a poet.

His series titled NEWLANDSCAPE encompasses a selection of mountain images that are beautiful and inviting, without the sense of danger or foreboding that is often conveyed in work of this nature.

Staub’s mountain shots present a unique juxtaposition of rugged, looming summits and the gentle valleys below. And he always seems to capture the light at its sweetest.
