AgfaPhoto, the independent company which has emerged from the Consumer Imaging
division of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, has announced it has created a unified website
to give consumers a single destination for a wide range of photo processing services.
The new site -- www.agfaphoto.com -- merges two of the company's earlier
web portals, www.agfanet.com
and www.agfaphoto.com.



AgfaPhoto's new website features an improved design and user interface as
well as a selection of new Photo Service pages tailored to the needs of users.
Visitors to the site will find useful facilities such as the AgfaPhoto Print Service
for ordering prints from digital photos, as well as services for creating personalized
postcards and designing original photo gifts. With the AgfaPhoto Web Album, users
can show their digital photos online to family and friends and enable them to
order prints. This service is available free of charge for the first ten days
after a consumer's initial visit to the site.

of its digital film offerings with new products in four popular formats: secure
digital (SD) cards, high-capacity compact flash (CF) cards, xD digital media cards,
and USB memory sticks.

AgfaPhoto today announced the opening of its Third Annual International AgfaPhoto
Multicontrast Black-and-White Photo Competition. Open to both professional and
amateur photographers, this year's competition is themed "Insights into

One of the most important international photography events, The AIPAD Photography Show New York, will be presented by the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) from March 17 through 20, 2011. More than 70 of the world’s leading fine art photography galleries will present a wide range of museum-quality work including contemporary, modern and 19th century photographs, as well as photo-based art, video and new media, at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. The 31st edition of The AIPAD Photography Show New York will open with a Gala Preview on March 16 to benefit the John Szarkowski Fund, an endowment for photography acquisitions at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The AIPAD Photography Show New York is the longest running and foremost exhibition of fine art photography.

Recent tests found no evidence of X-ray scanner damage to digital camera media
cards or to the images they hold. The tests of scanner models currently in use
in the U.S. transportation industry were jointly conducted by the International
Imaging Industry Association (I3A), the leading global association for the imaging
industry; SanDisk® Corporation, a manufacturer of digital media cards; and
the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Having logged more airline miles recently than I'd care to admit, with
cameras and lenses and laptop to boot, I welcome any products that can make
the trip, and transition between connections easier. The "post-9/11 world",
as it sadly has come to be known, has not made it easier on photographers to
get where they need to go with the gear they must trudge along with them. With
that in mind, we recently had a close look at the Airport Security Roller/Backpack
from ThinkTank Photo, which combines carry-on capability with security and gear
--protecting features.
