Kingston High-Capacity 8-GB CompactFlash Elite Pro Card
 June 12, 2006 — Kingston Technology Company, Inc. has announced it is expanding
its line of CompactFlash Elite Pro cards with the addition of a new 8-GB card.
The card is for studio, catalog and portrait photographers who need to produce
large files for catalog reproduction and other commercial purposes. The
8-GB CompactFlash Elite Pro card joins the company’s 512 MB, 1-GB, 2-GB
and 4-GB CompactFlash cards. When used in conjunction with matching high-performance
digital devices, Kingston’s entire line of CF Elite Pro cards are said
to provide ultra-fast transfer times with read speeds up to 8 MB/sec. and write
speeds up to 6.75 MB/sec.
Kingston’s 8-GB Type I CompactFlash Elite Pro card has an MSRP of $399.99. Kingston notes that some of the listed capacity is used for formatting and other functions and thus is not available for data storage.
