Legion Paper Photo Contest 2006
Shutterbug Magazine

ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia age 21 and older, except employees (and their immediate families and persons living in the same household) of Primedia and Legion Paper.

TO ENTER: Photos must be printed on Legion Fine Art Digital Paper, which includes the following papers: Legion Photo Silk, Legion Photo Canvas, Legion Photo Gloss, Legion Premium Canvas, Legion Photo Matte, Legion Digital Rag, Somerset Photo Enhanced Velvet and Somerset Photo Enhanced Textured. Submission must be photos taken by the entrant in any of the three contest categories and need not be mounted. Enter as many prints as you’d like. To enter, send your digital inkjet print to: Legion Paper Corp., Legion Photo Competition, 11 Madison Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10010. Each submission must be attached to completed entry form or reproduced facsimile thereof. Model release(s), where required, must accompany the entry. Entry may be disqualified for non compliance of official rules. Contest begins on 10/15/06 at 9 a.m. EST and ends at 5 p.m. EST on 2/1/07.

JUDGING: Entries will be judged for overall quality, creativity, composition, adherence to category theme as well as photographic technique. All decisions of judges are final. Each category will have first, second and third prize winners. A Grand Prize winner will be selected from the three first place category winners.

PRIZES: A Grand Prize winner will be awarded to one of the three category winners [Portraits, Nature, Still Life], and the Grand Prize winner will be awarded a spot in a 4-day ShootSmarter University seminar (www.ShootSmarter.com) and $1000 MSRP selection of Legion Digital Fine Art Paper. Seminar must be taken between April 1, 2007 and April 1, 2008. Certain blackout dates exist. Prize includes hotel accommodations, but does not include airfare to and from the ShootSmarter University Campus. Total approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $2500. The first place winners of all three categories will each receive a Gitzo 6X Carbon Fiber G1258 with G1278M head and $500 MSRP selection of Legion Digital Fine Art Paper & winning image printed in Shutterbug Magazine. Total suggested retail value of $1500.00. The second prize winners in all three categories will each be awarded a Manfrotto Magfibre 055MF3 with 322RC2 head and $250 MSRP selection of Legion Digital Fine Art Paper & winning image printed in Shutterbug Magazine. Suggested retail value of $850.00. The Third Prize winners in all three categories will each be awarded a 20” EzyBalance, signed Barbara Bordnick Searchings 3 book and $100 MSRP selection of Legion Digital Fine Art Paper & winning image printed in Shutterbug. Suggested retail value $250.00. 100 entries will be selected at random to receive a Legion Sample Pack of paper. Suggested retail price of a sampler pack is $19.00. All prizes will be awarded. Prize winning photographs will be published in the April 2007 issue of Shutterbug. Winners will be notified on or about February 15, 2007.

GENERAL: All taxes on prizes and expenses not specified are sole responsibility of winners. Entries must be original work of entrant, may not have won previous awards, may not have been previously published, and must not infringe on third party rights. Entrants agree that Sponsors may crop, alter or modify a photo if necessary at their sole discretion. By participation, entrants [a] release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsors, their officers, directors, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, agents and representatives and their respective employees form any liability, injuries, losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising out of entrants participation in the contest and acceptance and use of a prize; and [b] grant to Primedia all rights in perpetuity, to publish their photographs in Shutterbug magazine, the Shutterbug website and in promotions and advertising for the magazine and website and in all other media now known or hereafter developed. All entries remain the property of entrants. Prize winners will be required to complete affidavit of eligibility, liability release and (where legal) publicity release, which must be return within time specified by Sponsors or alternate winner will be selected. Entry information becomes property of Sponsors. No correspondence about entries will be entered into. Reasonable efforts will be made to return entrants’ photographs if accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped return mailer. Sponsors not liable for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries, or for computer/internet malfunctions. No prize transfer or cash redemption. No prize substitution except by Sponsors due to unavailability, in which case prize of comparable or greater value will be awarded. One prize per household.

WINNER’S LIST: To receive a list of prize winners available within fifteen (15) days after all winners are chosen, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Legion Paper, Contest Winners List, 11 Madison Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10010.
