Aero Speed Pack 85 Dual Access Photo/Laptop Backpack
By Staff November 26, 2008 — Tamrac’s Aero Speed Pack 85 is said to be the perfect carrying solution for the photographer who prefers the comfort of a backpack, but doesn’t want to sacrifice the ability to quickly access photo gear.  To allow for this, Tamrac developed an innovative Dual Access System.  This unique system allows fast access through a side door when the pack is worn over one shoulder and brought around to the front of the body as well as traditional access to equipment through the front panel when the pack is removed.

The Speed Pack 85 has a completely foam-padded lower photo compartment that holds and protects a DSLR with a grip and zoom lens attached (including most 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom lenses), 2-3 additional lenses and accessories.  A separate, foam-padded laptop compartment holds most 17” screen laptops, which can be easily accessed without disturbing the photo gear. 

A large top compartment provides space for personal items like a lunch, light jacket or book.

For weather protection, the side door and laptop compartments are equipped with water-resistant zippers, while the front panel has a weather flap to protect the zipper from the elements.  Inside the side door, accessory pockets hold memory cards and lens caps, while an elasticized mesh side pocket provides convenient access to a water bottle.   The Aero Speed Pack 85 features a comfortable, foam-padded, contoured backpack harness that spreads the weight of the camera gear across the shoulders for all-day carrying comfort as well as a carrying handle.
