Sigma Intros 3 New Lenses: 85mm F/1.4 DG HSM, 12-24mm F/4 DG HSM and 500mm F/4 OS HSM

Today at Photokina Sigma added three new lenses to its Global Vision Line: the 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art, a 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art and a 500mm f/4 OS HSM Sport.

The high-speed 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is designed to support the latest hi-res sensors and deliver optimum sharpness and attractive bokeh. It’s constructed with two special low dispersion elements  and another glass element with a high rate of anomalous partial dispersion and refraction. It also features a new AF system with increased torque and full-time manual AF override.

Available late next month, the 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts for $1,199.

The new 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art is an ultra–wide zoom using what Sigma says is the largest aspherical glass mold in the industry to deliver superior resolution with virtually no distortion, flare or ghosting. It addition to its fast constant maximum aperture, this lens utilizes three low dispersion glass elements and has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4 inches at 24mm.

Available late next month, the 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts for $1,599. And like with the new 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art, the Nikon version will feature a new electromagnetic diaphragm.

Finally, the 500mm f/4 OS HSM Sport is a powerful super telephoto designed for professional sports and wildlife photographers. Featuring a durable build, the lens is constructed with magnesium alloy components, a carbon fiber hood and a water and oil-resistant front element. It’s also dustproof and splashproof.

The Sigma 500mm f/4 OS HSM Sport will be available in Canon and Sigma mounts in late October while the Nikon mount, featuring a new electromagnetic diaphragm, will ship a month later. All versions of the lens will have a recommended street price of $5,999.
