About 4' away from her with full zoom(300mm). She was very cooperative.


Good job getting in close, the only thing that would make a differece is the DOF could be deeper if you set up a higher ISO and managed to squeeze in more aperture. I shoot ducks and geese using a shutter speed setting and about 800 ISO. This automatically adjusts my aperture to a mid level of f/8.-f/11 depending on the day's light. In turn, the depth is increased and the speed of the shot takes any hand blur right out of the shot leaving a really crisp and deep shot.
Why write so much about this to you? Because I see your desire to get in close and hopefully you'll see the difference.
