This isn't looking to promising.....

Does Sony accept the Minolta 35mm camera bodies for cleaning? Local shop did a really bad job at cleaning(didn't get the "hairy"-thing) and charged me $30(plus tax)...when I showed them their work was substandard, they sad it wasn't the same "hairy"-thing.{Same location, same lenght, same "hairy"-thing.......hmmm, I must be stoopid?}

If Sony doesn't accept them, does anyone know of a 'reputable' shop that does? I don't mind shipping, but it must be insured both ways. I know, the camera sells on eBay for under $50.00, but I have so much more invested.

I've used a lot of Sony products over the years. For electronic products I have found their repair stations (located in most major cities) do good work and provide fast, reliable service. But I must say Canon camera service centers are as good or better.

I don't know if it's too much trouble for you considering your place of residence, but I had a similar issue with my stsi, and took it to Strauss Photo in Washington DC to get it cleaned. You could email them to ask how much the cleaning would cost, plus shipping, etc (that is, if they will accept a camera shipped to them for that type of service).

But if you're going digital soon, this might be too much effort and expense for something you will not use much. Well, you decide.
