Epson continued to “think big” this morning while debuting a new 64-inch SureColor P20000 photo printer. Yes, you read that right: it’s a 64-inch photo printer! The Epson SureColor P20000 is the successor to the Epson Stylus Pro 11880, which came out eight years ago.

Canon held its once-every-five-years Canon Expo 2015 show in New York City last September where the Tokyo-based company pulled back the curtain on some potentially groundbreaking imaging technology. Part science lab and part marketing showcase, the event drew tens of thousands of buyers, dealers, and distributors of Canon products (along with a large group of journalists) eager to see what the company had up its sleeve.

Fujifilm just took the wraps off its new premium mirrorless camera: the X-Pro2. The flagship X-Series camera is the follow-up to Fuji’s X-Pro1 from 2012 and while it looks similar to that rangefinder-style model, the X-Pro2 adds a host of new features.

We’re still in shock over the death today of legendary musician and artist David Bowie. Someone who knew Bowie more than most folks was renowned fashion photographer Brian Duffy who, between 1972 and 1980, worked with Bowie on five photo projects, including three of his most famous album covers.

The big CES show in Las Vegas wrapped up over the weekend but there are still a few tidbits of photo gear news trickling out of the event. The biggest CES headlines for photographers were several interesting product announcements from Nikon including the unveiling of the full frame Nikon D5 pro DSLR and the APS-C sensor-based Nikon D500 and photo enthusiasts.

The Nikon D5 professional DSLR has been the clear star (in cameras) of this year’s CES 2016 show in Las Vegas. Indeed, there’s a lot that’s appealling about this flagship, full frame DSLR from Nikon, including its ability to shoot at up to ISO 3,280,000 to capture images in extreme low light conditions.

In something of a surprise, Nikon announced at the CES 2016 show today in Las Vegas that it’s entering the competitive action camera market with several forthcoming products. The first in Nikon’s new action camera lineup will be the oddly named Nikon KeyMission 360, a rugged camera capable of “recording true 360-degree video in 4K UHD allowing users to share new perspectives and explore imagery like never before,” Nikon said in a press statement.

Nikon just launched its latest flagship professional DSLR at the CES 2016 show in Las Vegas, NV. Called the Nikon D5, it features a 20.8-megapixel full frame sensor along with Nikon’s new Expeed 5 image processor.
