This morning Fujifilm introduced the latest in their line of ultra-compact mirrorless cameras, the 24.3MP X-E3 with a companion XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR macro lens. Also unveiled was a GF 45mm f/2.8 R WR wide-angle lens for the company’s GFX mirrorless medium format camera. 

While it might seem unusual that a camera can be both mirrorless and have a medium format size sensor, that’s exactly what Fujifilm has created with their new GFX 50S. The 51.4MP CMOS sensor size is 43.8x32.9mm, 1.7x the size of the sensor in a full-frame DSLR; the body is decidedly mirrorless, lacking a pentaprism finder and replacing it with an EVF and a tiltable rear LCD.

When Fujifilm said at the photokina show in Cologne, Germany last year that its forthcoming 51.4-megapixel GFX mirrorless medium format camera would sell for “way under $10,000,” they weren’t lying.

Everyone who loves photography is aware of the legendary Hasselblad cameras, but few of us know much about Victor Hasselblad himself—the man responsible for the iconic brand. The rare film below provides a unique opportunity to watch Hasselblad discuss his vision of photography in an interview broadcast by Swedish National Television in 1967.

Phase One kept pushing the megapixels at the photokina show in Cologne, Germany this morning, announcing the new IQ1 100MP medium format digital back. Phase One also announced two new Schneider Kreuznach Blue Ring lenses today: the 150mm f/2.8 IF and 45mm f/3.5.
